Be Bold!

The last couple of weeks have been very difficult for me.

If you've ever seen a turtle you notice that when they feel threaten or attacked they hide in their shell. I would say that is me! I hide in my safe place and stay away. I will not confront the situation in fear of the outcome. I rather stay in my shell and let time pass so everything calms down. I do not like conflict.

But.....the last couple of weeks I have had to learn to become bold. Not mean, or arrogant but bold. To fight in the name of Jesus, on my knees!

See I have met people that are a little sharp around the edges, which is ok. But when the edges start to scrap me and make me intimidated everything inside of me wants to run. I want to once again hide and wait until it all calms down.

In the book of Daniel chapter 6, a group of people did not like Daniel. So they convinced the king to make a law where no one can pray to anyone/thing except for the king. Daniel was a man of God. There was no stopping him. So this group of people stalked him (as one of the youth at my church would say) waiting to see Daniel praying. Daniel prayed 3 times a day so sure enough they seen him and to the king they went. Since the king could not go back on the law he signed, Daniel was thrown into the lions den. The following morning the king went to check on Daniel and not a hair on his head was touched. God shut the mouths of the lions.

Daniel focused on God. He didn’t hide In his shell, hide in fear or wait for things to calm down before he continued praying and worshiping God. He openly prayed to God. He knew that regardless of what came his way God would fight that battle. And God did.

At the end the king acknowledged that God saved Daniel.

My job is not to hide but to be bold. God will be in that den with me and when all is said and done people will acknowledge God. I have to stay focused on who Jesus is. Who He has called me to be and through my actions draw people to Christ.

God places people in your life for a reason. Some will lift you up, some will come for you but like Daniel, let your actions speak louder than your words. Let the God in you be a testimony to the sharp edged people.

God will shut the mouths of lions for me and you. Lets be bold together!
