An SOS Message

Updated: Nov 5, 2021

I have encountered many people with so many questions and concerns as to why.

Why am I losing my job? Why is my marriage falling apart? Why aren't things changing? Why?

The uncertainty of the world let alone your personal situation makes it difficult to see the bigger picture.

In the bible, (John 11:1-45) Mary and Martha found themselves in a similar situation. Their brother Lazarus was very sick. Mary and Martha sent a message to Jesus. An SOS message. They knew He was the only one who could perform a miracle and save their brother.

Jesus, in return, says "Lazarus's sickness will not end in death" yet, waited another 2 days before he went to Bethany where Mary and Martha were. When I read this I was confused. Knowing that Mary and Martha were in distress and that Lazarus was on his death bed why wouldn't Jesus move just a tad bit faster?

That was my human mentality.

Jesus continued, saying "This happened for the glory of God so that the son of God will receive glory from this".

When Jesus arrived both Mary and Martha made it known that if He was there, Lazarus wouldn't have died. They too in their human mind didn't realize what was happening.

Your situation may look dead, but don't lose hope. You don't understand what God is doing. This very thing will one day be used to glorify the Lord. So that others would believe as well.

Jesus says "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die". He then asked Martha do you believe this?

So, I leave you with the same question. Do you believe that in Christ there is resurrecting power over your situation?
